映画『ホノカアボーイ』のムービー・カメラマンとして話題の市橋織江。フォトグラファーとしてはサッポロ生搾りやサントリー“ベジ”、無印良品などの広告を、そしてCDジャケットや雑誌、書籍のカバーフォト、映画ポスターなど、多岐に渡って活躍している。
今回、そんな彼女が、06〜08年にかけて世界を旅しながらじっくり被写体と向き合った初の写真集が発売された。ニューヨークやベルギー、ブラジル、セネガル、日本……。それぞれ街の景色や人々の顔、動物の仕草は、どれもピースな雰囲気。また、独特な淡く優しいパステル調の風合いを持った作品の数々は、めくるだけでやさしい気持ちになれる。手元に置いておきたくなる写真集だ。
